The Sanctuary
A permanent residence for Pierre Ayot’s Mount Royal Cross and Isabelle Hayeur’s Blind Walls.

Mois de la photo à Uqbar has appropriated the exterior wall of 1437 St Laurent street as well as the façade of the domain of the Réligieuses hospitalières de Saint-Joseph and is proud to announce its intention to permanently install Pierre Ayot’s the Mount Royal Cross and Isabelle Hayeur’s Blind Walls “in situ” on the grounds of its offices at 259 de Maisonneuve Est in Montreal’s Latin Quarter. By virtue of its “metafictional existence”, the MPU feels it is uniquely qualified to offer sanctuary to such works of art victimized by socio-political forces active in the Newtonian universe.

For this event, Mois de la photo à Uqbar has created citizens passionately dedicated to the dissemination of social vision and placed them in a culture driven by an incommensurable faith in the power of the human imagination.
